Holly Arboriculture was commissioned to conduct an extensive tree survey and deliver a comprehensive arboricultural report with detailed drawings to support the planning application for a road improvement scheme in County Cork. The project involved close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including project designers, civil engineers, and ecologists, to ensure that arboricultural and ecological factors were thoroughly integrated into the planning process.

Large-Scale Tree Survey and Arboricultural Report for Road Improvement Scheme Planning Application in County Cork

Scope of Services

Our role involved collecting large data sets on existing trees along the proposed road corridor, assessing their condition, and evaluating their potential impacts on the planned improvements.

Challenges & Solutions

To align with best practices, we utilised the Bristol City Council Tree Replacement Calculator to determine the appropriate number of replacement trees, ensuring the project’s commitment to sustainable and balanced tree cover. The data was meticulously organised and presented in a clear, accessible format, allowing stakeholders to make informed decisions on tree retention, relocation, or removal.

Project Outcome

The final report and drawings provided precise details on tree locations, root protection zones, and tailored protection measures to mitigate impacts on trees designated for retention. By facilitating effective communication across disciplines, our input ensured that the planning application showcased a balanced approach, prioritising much needed infrastructural development and environmental preservation.

“Holly Arboriculture has and continues to assist us with numerous development projects large and small. He consistently produces a high standard of professional documentation to support our projects and always delivers within the agreed timeframes.“
